Amateurs of nature might want to check the Phoenix Parc Floral, the city's famous botanical gardens.
If you wish to get away from the coast and get in the shade on a hot day, other tourist attractions worth visiting includes the 16th-century Fort du Mont Alban with its impressive French military architecture and stunning views, the dominating Nice Acropolis with its multimedia and conference centre and the Old Port filled with expensive yachts and surrounding grand 18th century buildings and design. For those interested in art, the Musée des Beaux Arts is situated along the Avenue des Baumettes and the Musée d'Art Moderne et d'Art Contemporain is on Avenue St. Jean Baptiste which features modern paintings and pop art.
