The development
Les Dunettes residence is a luxury development in classic Norman style, offering 1 to 2 bed furnished and equipped apartments, nestled in a landscaped park with a heated swimming pool, only 500 metres from the beach. Each apartment has been furnished and decorated with great care (many are duplex), boasting fitted kitchens and tiled bathrooms, as well as parking spaces, and for some, balconies terraces or private gardens.

The location
Cabourg is an exceptional seaside resort located on the Cote Fleurie (the flowery coast), between Deauville and Caen, a superb location, under 2 hours from Paris. Its beach is known as the romantic beach and is considered the queen of beaches along the Cote Fleurie. Fine, white sand stretches for miles, so its no wonder why. Cabourg is also home to the oldest golf course in Normandy, "Le Home". Created in 1907 by Lane Jackson, the course offers some spectacular views (be careful or your ball could end up on the beach!), challenging holes and various competitions throughout the year. Cabourg itself is a lovely town, with plenty of late 19th earlier 20th century architecture that remains remarkably well preserved. In terms of amenities, Cabourg offers plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and a market. Culturally, there is always something to do, whether it be a baroque music concert, games nights, festivals, exhibitions, garden tours, races or tea dances- there is something to suit everyone. Further afield, the surrounding area offers plenty of unspoilt undulating countryside, dotted with sleepy Norman villages, historical monuments and more besides.

Activities
A range of activities are available in and around Cabourg- jet skiing, sailing and other water sports as well as golf, horse riding, karting, fishing and tennis for those whod rather stay on dry land.

Local food and specialities
The Calvados department is known for its dairy produce- butter, cream and various cheeses such as Camembert, Pont lEveque and Livarot. Popular dishes include tripes a la mode de Caen (a dish going back to the Middle Ages with tripe), Andouille de Vire (chitterlings), caramel from Isigny sur Mer, teurgoule (a sort of rice pudding with cinnamon). To drink, cider and the famous Calvados alcohol (cider brandy) must be sampled.

Normandy

The Normandy region is situated between the Channel and the Paris basin and has been the welcoming harbour of civilizations through the Seine Valley to Paris. The region's name originates from the Viking Norsemen back in the 9th century and it is officially divided in two parts, "Haute et Basse Normandie" (High and Low).

Its pleasantness has made Normandy the home of arts, amongst them painting and literature. Monet, Millet, Corot, Pisarro as well as Corneille, Maupassant, Flaubert, Victor Hugo and Dumas "père", have found their inspiration in this region.

Normandy is very easy and quick to access to by air, boat, rail or road, for a few hours, a quiet holiday, or for a lifetime!
