What is it about the Tarn et Garonne that draws people back again and again? Could it be the diversity of the scenery, the long hot summers, the medieval villages that look like film sets or the friendly hospitable locals?

It is all this and a great deal more. Toulouse airport is within 1 hour’s drive which makes the area ideal for those wishing to commute back to the UK but want to make their homes in France. There are many that do as bringing up children in an area with its relatively low crime rate and excellent health service is top of most house buyers’ criteria, not to mention that their children could be bilingual in a very short time. A lot of people say that once they discover this northern part of the Tarn et Garonne they stop looking elsewhere.

One of the reasons they cite, apart from the spectacular scenery, is that the area combines the best of both worlds. Rural France with an abundance of picturesque stone houses but vibrant towns and cities that are easily accessible. Cahors, the capital of the Lot is just 30 minutes drive from St Antonin Noble Val and Caylus, two beautiful medieval villages that are very popular holiday spots. Montauban, the capital of the Tarn et Garonne is also just 30 minutes away and Toulouse (France’s 4th city) is an easy 50 minute drive.

If you are not yet sure about which area of France to buy in, come and pay a visit to this wonderdul area, you will not be disappointed. But first, take a look at our properties in Tarn et Garonne.
