Close to Vitré and listed as MH since 1946, it looks great with its entrance gate, its façades and their Renaissance sculptures, its 16-hectare park and its listed 8-hectare lake, its moats, its convertible outbuildings, its dovecote, its animals (sheep, peacocks...). The site is wooded, relaxing, in the countryside but near a village. The chateau offers around 1000m2 of living space. The various rooms on the ground floor and the 1st floor are spacious, remarkably decorated: exposed beams, coats of arms of the successive owners, monumental fireplaces... A very beautiful oak staircase leads to the 1st floor; a granite spiral staircase, located in the octagonal tower, serves the floors, including the 2nd which is in the attic state. The 19th century outbuildings, former caretaker and staff house, with a large barn, substantial and beautifully crafted, need to be restored. The castle has belonged to the same family for 250 years.
We have access to more chateaux and historic real estate that are ’off market’ and therefore not listed on here. Contact us with details about your project and we will send you a selection of french castles for your consideration.
