Find Your Perfect French House in Early Autumn

Statistically speaking, France is the most popular destination for tourists in the world. In 2011, it had almost 80 million foreign visitors – and naturally, most of those travelled during school holiday periods. While we at My-French-House.com understand the attraction, we know that not everyone enjoys being one of the crowd when they travel to France.

One of the main attractions of this wonderful country is its sense of space – there are thousands of miles of open countryside between the many towns and villages. You don’t have to go very far to feel like you’ve got away from it all.

If you enjoy that peace and quiet and want to find your own place to relax, early autumn is a fantastic time to go house hunting in France. The roads are much quieter than during the peak holiday season, so you can travel at your leisure and enjoy the scenery as you go, without sitting in queues on the autoroutes or fighting for parking spaces in overcrowded towns.

Although most of the tourists have all gone back home, the weather is still good across the country so you can enjoy some late sunshine as you explore. Not only that, but autumn is harvest time and the many local markets are overflowing with fresh produce at this time of year. As in the UK, this year has seen much better weather for farmers than last year and there is an abundance of wonderful fruit and vegetables on offer.

With house prices expected to rise in the near future, yet many vendors willing to compromise on their asking prices as they aim to sell before Christmas, especially for cash purchases, now is the perfect time to take a trip across the Channel and find your perfect French home.
