The Summer CollectionWe’ve been busy, much busier than we’ve been for some time with record levels of traffic and are receiving enquiries from all over the world and for all property types from people and investors wanting to secure their dream french retreat. We are also witnessing an increase in demand from investors looking at business opportunities or to purchase substantial chateaux/domaines and vineyard properties in France and Europe.
It seems obvious that in recent months families have been re-evaluating what’s important in their lives. There’s a real urge for people wanting to get away from crowded towns, longing for a simpler and healthier way of life.
And the Brits are back, driven with the brexit deadline which is getting closer, knowing it takes approx 3 months to purchase a property in France. We spoke about this trend to the Sunday times & Daily Mail amongst others recently.
The market is busy again and prices have not been affected, or not yet. In fact properties are selling quickly with most offers being received at full asking price from motivated buyers, some of them after doing a “Virtual Visit” online and having a relative nearby viewing on their behalf.
It’s mostly driven by the french and EU neighbours wanting to get out of big cities or looking to find a security bolthole may the situation arise again. So as France is reopening for tourism and business, we’re getting busier and starting to see fresh listings coming to the market.
Many clients are already ‘planning for their escape to France’ in September aiming for a completion date before next year, and we anticipate we’re going to get much busier, especially if the weather doesn’t improve!
Most of them sign up to the website to receive our latest instructions while continuing their research, and come back to us weeks, months, sometimes years later. By that time, we have kept in regular contact, have a good understanding of their needs and are able to narrow down a few specially selected properties and areas to visit.
So keep an eye on our latest properties and there’s no better way to start than by taking a look at our current ’best of’ collection, enjoy… and have a great summer.
